What's the big deal anyway?
Interconnection's impacts on Southwest Asia
Interconnection had multiple positive and negative impacts upon Southwest Asia and the surrounding regions between 600CE and 1450CE. Some of these impacts were due to the Crusades, such as the detour of trade from Europe to Asia around Africa to avoid the conquest, and others had to do with the spread of culture and religion from the area to other regions of the world.
But there were more impacts than just the big ones. All around there were many economical, social, geographical, political, and cultural events and factors that lead to the overall development of Southwest Asia.
